What is the The Fixture Difficulty Rank (FDR)?
The Fixture Difficulty Rank (FDR) is based on a complex algorithm developed by Fantasy Premier League experts. A set of formulas process key Opta data variables, along with each team’s home and away form (past six matches), in order to generate a rank for the perceived difficulty of each Gameweek opponent. The FDR is designed to help FPL managers plan their transfer and team selection strategy and is reviewed on a weekly basis.
Scoring — FPL247 attacking rating
Scoring is FPL247’s own fixture rating, not the official FPL difficulty. It estimates how favourable each upcoming fixture is for a team’s attacking returns — goals, assists and attacking FPL points — by rating the opponent’s defensive strength relative to the league average. Each opponent is assessed on their last six matches, with home and away form weighted separately. Because this is our own projection, we track how well it predicts real results on the

page.
Clean Sheet — FPL247 defensive rating
Clean Sheet is FPL247’s own fixture rating, not the official FPL difficulty. It estimates how likely a team is to keep a clean sheet in each upcoming fixture — the key signal for picking defenders and goalkeepers — by rating the opponent’s attacking threat relative to the league average. Each opponent is assessed on their last six matches, with home and away form weighted separately. As with Scoring, this is our own projection, and we track how well it predicts real clean sheets on the

page.
